Disa Tours was established in 1991 by David Drummond. Our initial business was operating day tours around Cape Town. This was an extremely volatile period in our history with tourism hardly on anyone’s agenda. By 1994 a dramatic change had taken place and South Africa was on the lips of most travellers. We decided to alter our scheduled tours to focus on more personalised day trips. Private Day Trips was to become the hallmark of our business.
Within the years that followed a boom in tourism grew especially in Cape Town. Deciding that touring was not the only service that we could offer to our clients, we incorporated an airport shuttle. This has grown in leaps and bounds resulting in a separate entity that deals with airport transfers only. This division has grown into a transport division which arranges transport for businesses, schools, NGO ‘s, government and tourists alike. The business was rebranded as Taximan and registered as a company in 2006.
The team has changed while many of our staff have remained committed throughout Covid and 2023 saw some internal changes developing with Darryn Johnson and Terence Drummond joining the business as partners. Darryn has managed operations at Taximan for over 10 years and Terence brings his legal background to the business together with his business skills.
2023 sees a shift into safari travel and Taximan has networked with two local safari companies to bring a taste of the wild to those with a limited time in South Africa or who don’t have the time to explore places like the Kruger National Park.
