The day begins with a scenic drive to Stellenbosch, paying a short to this second oldest town in South Africa. Enjoy the exquisite surroundings of a local vineyard and some palatable wine tasting before heading over the Helshoogte Pass, leading into the Franschhoek Valley.

The Franschhoek wine district , having an enviable, world renown history and award winning wine estates, have been welcoming visitors over many years who have testified to the exceptional wines produced on these working farms.

The day begins with a scenic drive to Stellenbosch and we have as short visit of the second oldest town in South Africa. Enjoy a local vineyard and some wine tasting before heading over the Helshoogte Pass into the Franschhoek valley.

The Franschhoek wine district, has a tremendous history and award-winning estates, welcoming visitors over many years for their exceptional wines and their wine tasting.

Possible lunch stop in Franschhoek region before heading out to the Paarl valley and a visit to the Fairview Wine Estate which is a popular with locals. This is a special stop on the wine and cheese tasting tour as it is the only wine farm to offer goats cheese. Fairview Wine Estate has a herd of over 750 goats and looking after them is a big part of the daily life on the farm. These goats roam freely and you should be prepared as these goats are known to be quite cheeky. Your guided tour at Fairview is a very relaxed experience where you will experience all the products produced on the farm.

Our day is completed with a visit to the nearby estate the Spice Route with a really fascinating variety of tastings including, wine, beer, cured meats, chocolate, snapps and even ice cream…..several restaurants for a late lunch and or a coffee or tea is also available.

Our trip back to Cape Town is around 45 minutes’ drive.
